Friday Afternoon Adventures In London With The Bestie
05:55Friday Afternoon Adventures In London With The Bestie
So on Friday the 10th June, me and my best friend decided that considering it was a lovely day that we should meet up, go into London and just enjoy the rest of the day as we had heard it would rain dramatically the next few days. Initially, we had decided to go to a roof top bar but because of some problems we didn't end up going. Nevertheless, we didn't let this affect our day and just decided to do what we do best and explore the area of London we was in the best we could and i am here to show you what we did....
The Royal Courts Of Justice - Strand, London
As i previously stated, our initial plan was to go to a roof top bar, so we had to go to temple station and then walk to Strand as this was where it was located. Once we got their the first thing we realised was that we was HUNGRY!!! so we reached for Google maps to help us decide where to go. We decided that we fancied going to a pub for lunch and we had seen one called "7 Stars" so we followed the route to find this pub. During our journey we came across The Royal Courts Of Justice, and the exterior of the building was beautiful and very much so historical similar to Harry Potter as you can see below.
After being a tourist for the moment, we had a couple minute walk to find the 7 Stars pub, unfortunately when we got there i was very packed due to the lovely weather, so we decided to go back to where we first started and try find somewhere near by. I absolutely LOVE taking photos and found a row of old red telephone boxes and just had to take a photo..
The King Templar - Fleet Street, London
Once i had taken my amazing photo of the telephone boxes LOL, we carried on our journey to find food. Just a couple of steps in front of us, my best friend noticed a pub and instantly got an intention to go check it out. Out of nowhere she says "OMG is that spoons writing on the board" spoons meaning Wetherspoons ( a well known pub company that offer food and beverages). We got a little closer and YESS !!! we had found a Spoons Pub!! BRILLIANT. As my best friend quoted herself "You can take the girl out of one Wetherspoons but she'll always find another one".
We quickly rushed inside out of excitement and chose where we wanted to be seated. I cannot express enough how magical, yes MAGICAL this pub is !! each area of which you can sit is themed differently, i can definitely say i was in my element lol. We didn't take too long to decide what we wanted to order as you have probably already guessed we LOVE spoons hehehehe, however its sort of like tradition to browse through the menu regardless because its so big lol. I decided to have the chicken and ribs convo with a glass of water and my best friend had a chicken avocado wrap with salad and purple rain as her drink.
I can safely speak for the both of us and say that we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Before we set off i decided that i needed to go to the bathroom (TMI Sorry) but listen when we got downstairs to it, we was left AMAZED, i will let the photos below explain why...
I felt like i was at the Roman Baths rather then a pub toilet LOL!, anyway after spending a good 10 mins in the toilets taking photos we decided to start our journey back to Temple to go to the roof top bar, but like already stated when we got their we wasn't able to go inside.
Somerset House - Strand, London
Somerset House is a large Neoclassical building situated on the south side of the Strand in central London, overlooking the River Thames. It is a major cultural centre with some of the best features one has ever seen, especially if you're a history or tourism student. I loved every single part of it but especially the water fountains that had been built into the ground, see below for some lovely photos..
After we finished at Somerset House we decided to just walk and go wherever our feet lead us. We ended up in Covent Garden market which was really busy as it is one of the main tourist locations in London so we didn't really take any photos, instead took in the excitement of the entertainment etc around us. We had a couple hours left before we had to go home as my best friend wanted to watch the first Euro game, and as she knew the area quite well she told me that Leicester Square was just down the road, so that was our next stop. Our plan was to go for drinks but as we had no luck i thought let me try and just find a Bubbleology (Bubble Tea Place) store to have a white peach tea. Once we got to Leicester Square the nearest store was about a 10 minute walk so we began on our route to find it. However, down the road i noticed a TGI Fridays and i knew they do very nice drinks that suit everyones preferences and i suggested to my best friend that we just go here instead for the last couple hours we had left as time was ticking, she agreed and that was our plan.
TGI FRIDAYS - Leicester Square, London
For myself, i don't drink alcohol so i would be having Mocktails (Non Alcoholic Cocktails) whereas my best friend does so she had normal cocktails. I didn't take any photos of my best friends drinks as i just allowed her to enjoy them, but she had " Bubble Gum Daiquiri" and " Pretty N' Pink" Cocktails, and for me i had "Raspberry Sublime" and "Blueberry Blitz", see below for photos and full details...
